Build software that brings people home from the river, the border and the sea.
We are a small team building twenty-two products for India's frontiers. The work is technical, often physical, and always checked against a doctrine that says what we will not build. If that suits you, read on.
- River discharge forecasts that a boat crew can act on before the water rises.
- Heat guidance that tells a medical officer when a patrol should rest.
- Sensor fusion that turns radar, thermal and acoustic hits into one honest picture.
- An audit chain that lets an oversight officer verify what every operator did.
We publish our methods, label simulated data, and say "we do not know" when we do not. We build nothing that profiles or scores people.

Riverine systems engineerKolkata + fieldHardware
Design and field-test Prahari, our riverine sentry pod, so that it survives tides, silt, monsoon floods and salt in the Sundarbans and on the Brahmaputra.
You will
- Own the pod's power system: solar, batteries, and an energy budget built from measured irradiance.
- Design floating and stilted mounts, enclosures, and defences against biofouling and corrosion.
- Integrate radar, thermal and acoustic sensors through Sangam's open schema.
- Write maintenance routines that a field team can follow from a boat.
You have
- Four or more years building electronics or power systems that live outdoors.
- Comfort on boats and in mud, and a habit of writing test plans.
- Python for analysing field logs.
- A plus: marine or offshore work, sealed enclosures, Bengali or Assamese.
Edge ML engineerBengaluruMachine learning
Make detection and classification run on small, low-power computers at the river and the post, and report their error rates honestly.
You will
- Train and compress models for radar, thermal and acoustic data: boats, swimmers, debris and drones.
- Measure false alarms per hour in field conditions, by place and season.
- Ship models to ARM devices that may never see a network.
- Write a model card for every model that ships.
You have
- Three or more years putting models on edge devices: quantisation, pruning, ONNX or similar.
- Experience with noisy sensor data from the real world.
- Respect for evaluation over demos.
- Note: we do not build face recognition or person identification, and will not ask you to.
Hydrology data scientistBengaluru or remote, IndiaScience
Turn river models and satellite water maps into flood thresholds and crossing windows that people can act on, for Varuna, Nadi, Sarovara and Sandhi.
You will
- Check modelled discharge (GloFAS) against gauge levels wherever they are public.
- Set thresholds from climatology and quantify ensemble uncertainty.
- Track bankline and char change from JRC Global Surface Water, Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2.
- Write the methods notes, including the failure modes.
You have
- A degree in hydrology, water resources or earth science, or equivalent experience.
- Python with xarray, numpy and pandas; some remote sensing.
- A clear sense of the difference between a forecast and an observation.
- A plus: work on the Brahmaputra or Ganga basins, radar imagery.
Full-stack engineerBengaluruSoftware
Build the console and the public site: fast, accessible pages without a framework, fed by Python pipelines that keep working offline.
You will
- Build console views, public safety pages and data downloads.
- Write pipelines with caching, retries, manifests and offline rebuilds.
- Keep every page at zero console errors, clean at 375 px, and usable by keyboard.
- Wire products into the Sakshi audit chain.
You have
- Three or more years of web engineering.
- Strong HTML, CSS and JavaScript without a framework, and working Python.
- Care for accessibility, performance and small dependency lists.
Sensor fusion engineerBengaluruSoftware
Own Sangam's tracking core and its open SDK, so that integrators can plug any vendor's sensor into one picture.
You will
- Work on gating, data association, Kalman filtering and track lifecycle.
- Make the riverine simulator realistic: boats, swimmers, debris, fishing traffic.
- Publish fusion metrics: track continuity, false tracks, latency.
- Design the schema and write the SDK documentation.
You have
- Four or more years in tracking or estimation: radar, sonar, robotics or autonomy.
- Strong mathematics, Python, and C++ or Rust.
Field operations leadKolkataOperations
Run our pilots on the river and the coast, keep the team safe while doing it, and make sure what we learn in the field reaches the code.
You will
- Plan and run five-to-six-month pilots with district administrations and partner units.
- Handle logistics, permissions and safety plans for boat and field work.
- Train users, collect structured feedback, and write evaluation reports.
You have
- Five or more years running field operations: disaster response, development programmes or the services.
- Bengali and Hindi; comfort on boats; calm under pressure.
- A plus: work with state or district disaster management authorities. Veterans are welcome.
Policy and oversight counselNew DelhiLaw and policy
Keep our products lawful, proportionate and accountable, and help our users show that they are.
You will
- Own our position under the DPDP Act and the CERT-In directions.
- Review features against the doctrine before they ship, with the power to stop them.
- Design Sakshi's purposes, policies and retention schedules with the engineers.
- Write our transparency report and follow procurement rules.
You have
- A law degree and four or more years in technology, privacy or public law.
- Ease with technical documents and engineers.
- Independence of mind, and the habit of putting it in writing.
Security engineerBengaluruSecurity
Make our deployments hard to break and easy to verify, from the air-gapped server at a post to the public site.
You will
- Threat-model air-gapped and on-premise deployments.
- Build signed release bundles and a software bill of materials for each release.
- Harden the audit chain and its verifier.
- Run our responsible disclosure programme and incident response.
You have
- Four or more years in application or infrastructure security.
- Experience with software supply chains and incident response.
- Write to us.Send careers@trinetra.in the role in the subject line, a short note, and links to work you are proud of. No cover letter needed.

- Half a day with the team. For field roles, part of it is outdoors.
- A decision.References, then an answer within three weeks of the first call.
We do not ask about religion, caste, marital status or plans for a family, and we do not look at personal social media accounts. Every hire reads and signs the doctrine. If you need an adjustment for any stage of the process, tell us and we will make it.
If you can help people on the frontier see early and stay safe and your role is not here, write anyway. Tell us what you would build first.
